Measures and procedures

To create memorable moments together again, the Amstel Hotel has taken extensive measures to ensure your safety. We are emphasizing each and every one of these aspects. You may rest assured that our team is adhering to the latest news, protocols, and tools provided by the Dutch government and leading health experts to optimize our processes.

Including, but not limited to the measures stated below, the Amstel Hotel has taken all necessary precautions to ensure a tranquil stay. Securing a safe and comfortable experience, you will recognize various measures and procedures throughout the hotel:

  • Gloves and masks for all employees
  • Mandatory safety questions as dictated by the RIVM will be asked at the front door
  • Hand sanitizers and disinfection possibilities throughout the entire property
  • Welcome hosts at different areas in the hotel, to greet and guide you
  • One-way walking routes for both guests and employees
  • 1,5 meter floor plan applied in all restaurants, meeting rooms and terraces
  • Physical distancing measures, such as plexiglass partitions and removal of furniture
  • Contactless payment possibilities
  • Continuous intensive deep cleaning of all common areas

All protocols have been developed following the guidance of the Dutch government, the RIVM, local health and government authorities. As part of InterContinental Hotel Group, the official IHG Way of Clean has been applied. Living up to the IHG Clean Promise, you as a guest may inform us at all times should you experience any dissatisfaction or concerns with the hotel’s cleanliness or safety procedures. A formal audit has taken place to ensure initial and continued compliance of these measures, as well as dedicated hands-on training to all staff members at the Amstel Hotel.

At the end of the day, we are here to provide you the true Amstel experience. Whilst respecting all rules and regulations to ensure the safety of our guests, our ultimate goal is to bring you the ultimate guest experience and genuine hospitality ‘as we know it’.

Guest Journey

Arrival

When entering our hotel, there will be a welcome host to manage your arrival. As instructed by the RIVM, you will be asked five safety questions to ensure your health and that of other guests. We have secured sufficient space in front of the hotel, should it take a moment to be granted access.

Reservations

Please note that reservations are mandatory, both inside our restaurants and on the terrace. Reservations can be made online or per phone to enjoy drinks, lunch, dinner, or the Amstel Afternoon Tea. When entering on walk-in base, guests will be requested to still make their reservation on the spot, to secure a safe table seating plan. You are welcome to enjoy your table for a period of two hours.

Hospitality hosts

You will be welcomed and guided by our hospitality hosts. As they will happily show you the way to your table, please wait to be seated. All staff will be wearing gloves and a face mask, with a smile underneath!

Wardrobe

The Netherlands is known for its ever-changing weather. You may bring your jacket at all times, which we will store for you in a special sanitary equipped wardrobe.

TouchPoints & Walking Route

At all touchpoints within the hotel, there will be hand sanitizers and disinfection possibilities. All guests are kindly requested to utilize these as much as possible, just like following the indications that will guide the right path throughout the hotel. In order to safely reach the various outlets, rest rooms and the exit, a one-way walking route has been carefully designed.

Elevators

Our elevators will be operated by the hospitality hosts. They will indicate when guests are requested to utilize the elevator, to ensure the safest route. Elevators will be cleaned thoroughly and hand sanitizers will be available in elevator lobbies.

Parking

With our private parking garage at your disposal, we maintain our valet parking services. Increasing the health and safety standards, the following procedure will apply:

  • A dedicated valet staff member will await you outside the hotel to take your car
  • Valet staff will be wearing gloves and facial mask
  • The steering wheel, gear and door handle will be disinfected with sanitizing wipes
  • The same valet staff member will retrieve your car upon your departure
