Dine in style by the river in La Rive
Culinary excellence and extraordinary hospitality place Michelin-starred La Rive in a class of its own.
La Rive selected as Amsterdam's best restaurant
Under the inspired culinary leadership of Chef de Cuisine Rogér Rassin, Maître Ronald Opten en Sommelier Ted Bunnik, La Rive was voted Amsterdam's best restaurant in the 2013 Lekker (Delicious) restaurant guide. It is a member of the culinary association Alliance Gastronomique. The exceptional wine expertise of our three sommeliers and the specially commissioned porcelain and silver all contribute to a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
La Rive offers you the choice of two six-course menus. La Rive Gauche is a tasting of Executive Chef Rogér Rassin's signature dishes. La Rive Droite is a tasting of new dishes, inspired by the season and market availability. You can pair these menus with our Wine Experience or choose from the two extensive wine menus compiled by Maître-Sommelier Ronald Opten, Sommelier Ted Bunnik and Assistant Sommelier Hans van Schaik.
You are of course free to order any of the dishes à la carte. In fine weather, enjoy your aperitif and dinner on the elegant La Rive terrace.

The atmospheric Wine Room
Next to restaurant La Rive is the Wine Room, thousands of bottles of the world's finest wines are stored here. Our sommeliers like to joke that the Wine Room has the most expensive 'wallpaper' in the hotel. This gives the room its inspiring character. The oak table in the middle of this liquid treasure is the perfect place for a private breakfast, lunch or dinner for two to eighteen people. Here you can enjoy all the culinary surprises and hospitality of La Rive. You can close the doors for complete privacy or leave them open if you want to experience the ambiance of the restaurant. In the Wine Room we serve the full menu selection of La Rive and for larger parties we can create a custom menu with you.
A dinner in the middle of our kitchen, at the chef's table, is without doubt an amazing experience. You're seated in the beating culinary heart of the Amstel where twenty chefs and pastry chefs are hard at work under the leadership of Rogér Rassin and his sous chefs. You'll experience the sights and sounds of what happens behind the scenes in the kitchen, how our passionate cooks work like a well-oiled machine to ensure that every dish is prepared to perfection and how our serving staff bring this efficiently to table. Another dimension to the dishes and accompanying wines you yourself are savouring.
The Chef's Table Experience is suitable for four to eight people.
. The chef's table is closed on Mondays.
